Interesting Stocks for 10/8/2010 – A Hint of a Correction

We see some churning in some stocks that we are studying. For example, AmBev (ABV) seems to be stuck around 130 and cannot seem to penetrate it (disclosure: we own ABV in our paper and real money accounts +20% gain). Other stocks are stalling or correcting. We are still long the market and we will be until there are obvious signs of major consolidation in the stock market indexes. We are advocates of mild corrections that shake out the weak hands. That is healthy stock market activity. Do not get scared or complacent. Trust your instincts and believe in your systems. Turn out the noise, specially of those that state that the stock market will go down to 5,000. Remember, with the advent of short etfs, we can now safely hedge our portfolios and play the downside of the market.
